Migration of the old automatic system, programmed in “C” language, into a Siemens S7-400 PLC. This project involved the line-by-line translation to Siemens STEP 7 language.

During the commissioning, some modifications to the existing iFix SCADA were made.

Migration of the old automatic system, programmed in Step 5, to a Siemens S7-300 PLC. Some modifications to the existing iFix SCADA were also made.

5300, 8800, 9300, 5800 Sheet annealing ovens Automation:

Four sheet annealing ovens technological revamping. The electrical cabinets with relay logic were replaced, with programmed logic in Siemens S7-300 PLC. Power cabinets were also changed by new technology and a Siemens Simatic WinCC SCADA and Siemens OP77B operator panel was incorporated.

This achieves to have an excellent temperature control in the oven and a detailed record of each process. Logically also improves utilization, reducing stops caused by technical failures.

Migration of some Total Control HMI (Quick Panel), to Siemens MP270. They were connected to the existing Siemens S5 PLCs.

Engineering to establish communication between all PLCs in the plant:

First, the plant PLCs survey was made. Then, the way they will communicate with the "Plant control system" was established in each case. The necessary documentation for the assembly of the plant PLCs network, which will centralize the production information and perform the calculation of key indicators, was generated.

Incorporation of two Siemens Siwarex weighing modules, one for the rolls tying and the other for the bars tying machines. By doing this, the weight reading was incorporated to the existing PLC and HMI, allowing the record of these necessary variables to achieve product traceability.

Incorporation of operation screens in the EAF and RF ovens existing SCADA, for the control of the new sampler equipment acquired by AcerBrag. This project included commissioning and communication with the Siemens S7-300 PLC provided by the sampler equipment manufacturer.

Several modifications were also made to different Wonderware SCADA throughout the plant.
